Awakening?


Say, what's this? I vaguely remember this patch of webspace. It used to be alright but then it got all monotonous and rudderless towards the end.

I hope if it has a rebirth that it's one based on ideas and direction as well as merely breathing again. If someone could pass those sentiments on to old Gordy as well I would be grateful.

Icky Thump


Stereogum have got hold of a copy of the new White Stripes video and it's bloody brilliant. A song named after a Yorkshire colloquialism, Meg as a one eyed prostitute and Jack as a drunken gringo. Honestly, what more could you ask for? Social commentary on US immigration policy? Well, there's that too with this brilliant verse:

"Well, Americans,
What, nothing better to do?
Why don't you kick yourself out?
You're an immigrant too.

Who's using who?
What should we do?
Well you can't be a pimp
And a prostitute too."
